The session is timed to coincide with the exhibition ‘Leonardo, Experience a Masterpiece’, opening at The National Gallery this November. The session will focus on the period from 1482-99, when Leonardo was working in Milan at the court of Ludovico Sforza. The morning will consist of an illustrated talk outlining the background to Leonardo’s move to Milan, where he was used by Ludovico Sforza as an entertainer and a designer of masques, banners and military hardware. It was also the period in which he painted ‘The Last Supper’ and began his interest in scientific exploration and the study of human anatomy.
