Dartmoor Line
SCEnSus Adopt Sampford Courtenay Station.
Sampford Courtenay Environmental and Sustainability Group have successfully adopted Sampford Courtenay Station via Net Work Rail.
The aim of this is to keep the platform and Car Park tidy and litter free, and looking inviting to passengers on trains, at the moment, simply passing through, but with ambitions for when passengers will start and end their rail journeys from our local station.
Our first action will be to plant up the two containers already on the platform with some summer bedding and perennials.
Watch out for more news via Face Book or our Website emails.
If you would like to help us look after the Station platform please read the Licences and Safety Briefings attached below.

Message from James McIlwraith - CEO of newly formed Sampford Courtenay Community Rail Partnership
“Hello I’m James McIlwraith, parishioner and now the Project Leader of the new Sampford Courtenay Community Rail Partnership (SC CRP) This one of the key elements of the new Sampford Courtenay Community Interest Company Limited I would like to invite you to watch this video of the recently re-opened Dartmoor Line. Re-opening of the line has been a fantastic achievement and we hope to build on this by re-opening Sampford Courtenay Station to passenger traffic as reality. If you are able to use the rail service please do as it will all help re-open our own station
SC CRP is working with the parish council, Network Rail and the other local train groups to open Sampford Courtenay as a “calling" station once again. We hope to have a website up and running soon and will welcome interest and questions from anyone. We hope that the Community Rail Partnership can also help with the reinstatement of the entire former Southern Railway route between Exeter and Plymouth via Okehampton and Tavistock to increase access to both education and employment opportunities in Plymouth and the Torbay area for the residents of Sampford Courtenay.

Dartmoor Line to Okehampton has Reopened
