The Annual Flower, Vegetable, Produce & Craft Show Saturday 5th September 2026 from 1pm.
Thank you to everyone who entered, supported, baked cakes, helped with refreshments and cleared away.
This year's show was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon - with £678.45 profit raised to share between the Village Hall and the Village Green Enhancement Fund.

Poppy Net for Remembrance Day in the Square
Another suggestion from a parishioner was to try and get people to knit, crochet, felt poppies that can be sewn onto a net to drape over the steps beside the War Memorial in the square to add to our Remembrance Day services.
There is a pattern for both a crochet and knitted version below if you want to join in; or feel free to use your own pattern.
They can be entered in the Poppy Class at the Flower Show - or just handed in to Marion to sew onto the net before November 11th 2026.

Most judges use the RHS handbook rules for Vegetables, Flowers & Plants.
Craft and Produce is usually judged using the WI Guidelines.

Children's Classes
Vegetable Animals or Monsters
Have a look online or at the download below for some ideas to create your own Vegetable "Animal" or "Monster" to enter the show.
"Leaf" Cards
You can make your cards by making a design with different leaves stuck onto a piece of card, or why not try "hammering" some leaves to make a leaf print. Try this link https://www.instructables.com/Hammered-leaf-and-flower-prints/
"Decorated" Shoe Boxes

Any rainy day when you can't work in the garden is a good time to start working on crafts for the Show.

Now is a good time to start taking some photographs to enter the Flower Show.

Class 67,68 & 69 - Children's photo Theme - What I want to be when I grow up
Limericks
The Adult theme for this year's Limerick class is Age, and the Under 16 theme is Favourite Game.
Start thinking poetically when you get that annoying "twinge" or when you forget what you're looking for.
